► The Brief
Debbie runs the Diamond Light School of Healing, a heart-centred Reiki and holistic training business in North Somerset offering accredited diploma courses, spiritual workshops, one-to-one treatments and card readings. Her previous website looked tired, relied on basic PayPal buy-now buttons, and made everyday admin harder than it needed to be. She needed a calm, professional site that reflected her practice, took real online bookings and payments, and was simple enough to run herself between clients. The particular challenge was her courses: they do not run on single fixed dates, but often over two or three days, sometimes with a further day to be arranged, and the same course is offered on several dates through the year.
► What We Built
We designed and built a completely bespoke WordPress theme, no page builder, so the site is fast, tidy and unmistakably hers. The look is a soft, aurora-inspired palette of violets and teals with an elegant serif, and gentle reduced-motion animation that keeps everything feeling calm.
At its heart is WooCommerce, structured into five clear categories: Training, Workshops, Therapy, Readings and Events. Every service became a proper product with its own price, description and imagery, replacing the old buy-now buttons with a streamlined single-item checkout built for a business where people book one thing at a time. The booking buttons even adapt to the service, so courses invite you to reserve a space and treatments invite you to book a treatment.
The standout piece is a custom multi-session booking system. Each course can hold as many dates as needed, each with its own start and end date, times, location, spaces and an optional day-to-be-arranged note. Courses show a length badge, dates display as clean ranges, and customers choose the date they want at checkout. That choice is recorded on the order, spaces reduce automatically, passed dates drop off on their own, and when a course is fully booked it invites visitors to join the mailing list for the next dates. See it in action on the live site, which offers Reiki training in Weston-super-Mare.
We layered in the marketing tools a growing practice needs: automatic Google Reviews, a Mailchimp newsletter with a checkout opt-in, the latest YouTube video on the homepage, a scrollable events calendar, a justified photo gallery with bulk uploading, and full SEO with per-page titles, meta descriptions and social sharing images. That groundwork helps her rank for searches like holistic therapy courses in North Somerset.
Finally, we replaced the busy WordPress admin with a calm, custom Overview dashboard that shows bookings, takings, anything awaiting attention and upcoming dates at a glance, with one-click confirmation of bank-transfer bookings. Admin went from a chore to a thirty-second glance, which for a busy practitioner is the whole point.

Debbie came to us wanting a website that truly reflected the Diamond Light School of Healing, a heart-centred Reiki and holistic training business in North Somerset. Her old site had grown tired and relied on basic PayPal buy-now buttons, so she wanted something calm, warm and professional that matched the feel of her practice. Above all, she wanted it to look and feel like her, rather than a generic off-the-shelf template.
Practically, she needed to sell and take bookings online for her accredited diploma courses, spiritual workshops, one-to-one treatments and card readings. The tricky part was that her courses do not run on single fixed dates; they often span two or three days, sometimes with a further day to be arranged, and the same course is offered on several dates through the year. She needed customers to be able to choose the date that suited them, pay online, and have their choice recorded properly, with spaces kept up to date automatically.
Just as importantly, Debbie wanted to be able to run the whole thing herself without wrestling with technology. As a busy practitioner she needed a simple, calm way to see her bookings, takings and upcoming dates at a glance, and to confirm payments in a click or two. She also wanted the site working hard for her in the background, with Google reviews, a newsletter, and strong SEO helping new clients in Weston-super-Mare and across North Somerset find her.
